Summerside and Farewell to Prince Edward Island

The Silver Fox and Vixen, along with Jon and Geri, spent the afternoon of July 3 at Summerside, PEI's second largest city. It is on the southern coast of the Island and is fairly modern. We visited their Eptek museum of island arts and crafts and found some truly amazing works by local artists, works in fabric, metal, pottery and wood.
Following dinner at the local pub, we attended the Highland Storm, a presentation of Celtic music, song and stepdance, as well as pipes and drumming, presented by the College of Piping, the only school of its kind in North America.
It was a beautiful display of skills and we loved it! Sure made us want to get up and dance though!

It's time now to say farewell to Prince Edward Island. We've had a marvelous 8 days here, filled with new sights and sounds. After a restful July Fourth we'll make the relatively short drive to Halifax, Nova Scotia, only 160 miles away.

Wish you were here!
Rog and Meg
